Update on our website
Here at SCARevision.co.uk we are continuously working hard behind the scenes to ensure that this is the best SCA revision website out there
So what are we working on right now?
At this moment, we are changing the grouping headings for our cases to align with the RCGP curriculum for the SCA exam. Originally, our cases were grouped by the system of the body they represented, such as “cardiology” or “respiratory”. However, with the focus of the SCA shifting away from purely testing your knowledge on obscure presentations of medical problems, and more to managing cases that are reflective of General Practice today, it was time to change.
Why are we doing this?
Not only will this change better help your revision but will also ensure that new cases we create better fill in any gaps in the curriculum that we currently have. We are aware that some members may be working through the original list, and if you are one of these, don’t worry. The original headings will still be available for a short time through a separate link on the cases selection page.
What has this change highlighted?
By implementing the change in headings, we can see that some areas of the curriculum are more comprehensively covered on our website compared to others. This means, that our focus for new cases over the coming months will be to expand our offerings in the following headings:
Urgent and unscheduled care
Health disadvantages and vulnerabilities, including veterans, mental capacity, safeguarding, and communication difficulties
Ethnicity, culture, diversity, inclusivity
Prescribing
Updates to our consultation skills guide
We are also busy updating our tips and tricks for the exam, in addition to adding more content onto our consultation guides. So far we have added a lot of information to the “relating to others” tab, so that this better reflects the additional aspects that the SCA examiners will look for during your consultations
We have also added advice on how to structure your safetynetting available here
