Update on the SCA Exam
We always aim to update our website whenever we get new information about the exam that would help our candidates.
We have recently added new information to the following parts of our website to reflect new information about the SCA exam:
Revision Guide
We have added more information about how to prepare for the SCA exam, specifically highlighting the curriculum coverage, and the official advice from the RCGP regarding the best way to prepare for your exam!
Exam Tips
We have updated the section about the exam format. We now know for certain that there will be a mix of audio-only and video cases, with a ratio of around 9 video to 3 Audio cases in the SCA. We have also updated the section with further information about the exam format and timings.
Consultation Skills
The RCGP has confirmed that whilst there may be cases that the candidates wish to bring down to the practice to undertake further examinations or investigations, the cases have been written in such a way that this should not end the case at this point. Meaning that you will still need to provide a diagnosis, explanation, and management options (above and beyond simply booking them in to see you for further examinations or tests!)
